There is plenty of gold accumulated at Mount MEru (KailAsh);
You came there and threw the shining golden cane (CheNdAyutham) that was glittering and glowing*.
You are the ultimate refuge for all!
He is easily excitable and devours a variety of eatables;
He takes His food scoop by scoop (with His trunk); and
He is elephant-faced. You are His younger brother, Oh Muruga.
He lays on the serpent, AdhisEshan, half-asleep and half-awake;
He, the Supreme One, churned the milky ocean all by Himself (in KUrmAvathAram);
and He has the complexion of dark cloud. You are His nephew!
My mind is reeling under a multitude of miseries.
I am a base creature, a lousy meat-eater and a murderer.
To destroy all the sins I have committed till now, please come and save me by showering Your grace.
His name is the Purest for ever;
In order to conquer Thiripuram, which is constantly in rotation
He cast His benign smile, and the whole place was burnt down;
such was His power. You are that SivA's son!
Strongly came the procession of drums in the battlefield
and made a noise like "dududuNdudu duNdudu duNd";
the earth trembled as the demons (asuras) marched on, and there was stampede all over the world.
Their hearts were burnt down by fire, and on that day,
their bodies and intestines were torn to shreds
as You fought mounting Your peacock, Oh Revered One!
The Sun and the Moon are almost brushing
the tall trees in the groves abounding in
the fertile town of ThirupparangkundRam which You have chosen as Your residence to radiate Your grace, Oh Great One!
