The varieties of birth that take the shape of a body in innumerable mystic patterns are larger than the seven seas.
Although the signal that I am bound to fall into the pit of a womb in the whirlpool of birth, as per my deeds, has been etched in my heart,
it has to be reckoned that fate can never be eluded, as declared by the elders.
That (fate) holds me tight, binding me firmly with a thick rope
and sends me down the gutter in a large body giving the shape (of a child);
with the havoc played on me by the treacherous sensory organs, I twist like a worm in the flesh wriggling about
and suffer miserably with my body melting like wax on fire; will I ever be able to get rid of this distress?
These people display their anger (on those seeking alms) like the smoke emitted during the vadavAmukA fire (the ultimate inferno from the North pole) that flows at the end of the aeon;
the hearts of these several persons, falling prey to eternal hell, fume in wrath like the bellows in a furnace;
to put an end, from now on, to my seeking alms at their doors standing before them shamefully with a melting heart and to desist from soliciting their company
and to uplift me, kindly grant me, as my refuge, Your hallowed lotus feet for me to worship, Oh Lord with the peacock and the spear!
Upon all those great sages who praise Your glory, the achievers (sidhdhAs) and Lords SivA, VishNu and BrahmA, You bestow Your grace,
taking Your seat in this place, ThiruththuRaiyUr*, Oh Great One!
